How to setup Automated Functions

Partners have access to the so-called Automated Functions via Jifeline Networks. These are automated functions such as towbar coding for Audi, Citroën, Dacia, Ford, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen models.

To gain access to the Automated Functions select the Automated Functions partner from the dropdown menu in your catalog. If your catalog does not have the Automated Functions configuration please contact Jifeline Networks.

Set it up in your product catalog

In your product catalog for the “Tow Bar Coding (Aftermarket equipment)” product, you will be able to select “Automated Functions” as an outsource partner. If you select “Automated Functions” in the next step you can make some price settings as mentioned before in this manual.

Auto close the ticket when it is finished

You can define what happens to a ticket when automated functions have finished, whether it is automatically closed or returned to be closed by one of your team members. The settings can be made in the Settings menu on the Outsourcing tab.

Automated chat messages

The Automated Functions "operator" can use the chat to keep the garage owner informed of the ticket's progress. To enable this, go to the "Outsourcing settings" tab.

Since this is an automated chat, only messages are sent. If you send a message to the automated operator (Robin Bot) it will not be read.

When an automated service is running, the chat is in read-only mode. Thus, the garage operator cannot send messages to the operator.

Monitor Automated Function tickets

You can designate an operator to monitor the tickets received through Automated Functions. This setting is also found on the "Outsourcing settings" tab of the settings page.

What happens if the Automated Function cannot be completed?

If the Automated Function cannot code the vehicle, the process is aborted. The ticket will be cancelled. You then have the following options to still get the vehicle coded:

  • You choose to carry out the coding independently with your technicians and diagnostic equipment
  • You outsource the ticket to Jifeline Remote Diagnostics. In this case, we will use the coding information obtained to expand our database and improve the Automated Functions

Customer perspective

Below is an example of an automatic towbar coding on a Peugeot 308 II. In this example the service provider has enabled the auto-close setting in the Outsourcing settings tab. Of course the instructions for your client are available in several languages.
