Latency & Stability

Based on our experience, low latency is generally more important than high bandwidth, except for operations that require transferring large files, such as module updates.

Recommended latency

  • Latency below ~50 ms (between the remote and our central European server in Frankfurt) is considered good.

  • Latency around ~50 ms or slightly higher is reasonable, but may be less optimal.

  • Latency above ~80 ms can sometimes cause issues, especially for certain vehicles or coding operations.

Stability tip

The J-Rex can be connected to your router using an Ethernet cable, which provides a more stable connection and smoother operation.
