When programming or performing updates on Ford vehicles, it is recommended to put the vehicle into programming mode to ensure a more stable and reliable connection.
You have the option to manually run the Ford “Programming Mode” script yourself.
Activation
Before you can use this feature, you first need to activate it:
- Go to the openOBD marketplace
- Enable the Ford Enable/Disable Programming Mode function
Once enabled, the script will become available for your operators in the ticketworkspace.
How to use it in your ticket workspace
In your ticket workspace, go to the Automation tab on the right-hand side. There you will find select openOBD functions, where you can choose this function.
After selecting the script, you will be asked to choose the operator interaction to place the Ford vehicle into or out of programming mode. Open the operator interaction to select your desired action.
You can view the progress in the script log and also see how many modules have been successfully placed into Programming Mode.
Important information
Once the flash has been completed successfully, you must place the vehicle back out of Programming Mode. This can also be done using the same openOBD function.
This script works in the same way as the current Jeff Automated Functions. The script is completely free of charge, and you retain full control of the ticket while the vehicle is being placed into or out of programming mode.
In the log, you can monitor how many modules have successfully been set to programming mode. If something does not go as expected, you always have the option to stop the script manually.
