Connecting the Remote manually

If you are unable to download our OBD WiFi Connect app or use an Ethernet cable, you can also connect the Remote manually. Please follow the steps below:

1. Connect the Remote

  • Plug the Remote into the vehicle’s OBD-II port
  • Make sure the ignition is switched on

2. Check the LEDs

  • Check if the front LEDs on the Remote turn on
  • Check if both LEDs next to the Ethernet port are active
    • The orange LED should be constantly on
    • The green LED will blink when the Remote is not yet connected to a network

If the orange LED next to the Ethernet port is off, use a reset pin or paperclip to press and hold the reset button on the back of the Remote for 5 seconds (located at the lower right side of the device).

3. Connect to the WiFi network

  • Open your device settings
  • Go to WiFi networks
  • Look for Connector (XXXX numbers behind)

If you cannot find the Connector network, reset the Remote using a reset pin or paperclip and hold the reset button on the back of the Remote for 5 seconds.

4. Connect to the Remote

  • Connect to the Connector network
  • You may receive a message indicating that you are connected to a network without internet access. This message can be ignored or closed

5. Go to the connector.help page

  • Open a browser on the same device
  • Go to: connector.help

If you cannot access this page, it may be due to a typing error or because your device is no longer connected to the Connector network.

6. Select a network

  • On the connector.help page, go to Available networks
  • Select the desired WiFi network

⚠️ Important

  • Carefully enter the correct password
  • No error message will be shown if the password is incorrect
  • If the password is incorrect, the Remote will not connect

7. Check the connection

  • After entering the password, a loading circle will appear
  • When the loading circle disappears, check the LEDs next to the Ethernet port
  • If both LEDs are constantly on, the Remote is successfully connected to the network

ℹ️ Important information

It is possible that the front LEDs on top of the Remote turn blue and the device starts beeping. This indicates that an update is being downloaded.

The Remote automatically downloads updates whenever they become available and the device is connected to a network.

During an update, it is important to keep the Remote connected to the vehicle and not interrupt the connection. Wait until the front LEDs turn green again. Once they are green, the update is complete and the Remote is ready for use again.
